Boko Haram: FGC Alumni raises alarm over attack on northern schools

The Federal Government College Okigwe, Imo State, Old Students Association (FEGOCOOKOSA) has raised the alarm over recent attacks on the education sector in some parts of the North by insurgents. The   Lagos State chapter Chairman of the association, Omeoga Chukwu, raised the alarm while speaking on the preparation for the association’s national convention and  lecture series in honour of the pioneer principal of the school, Dr.D.M Ukpe, themed,  “Education: A Key Factor for Promoting Peace and Unity in Nigeria.” The event will hold on October 17 to 18 at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), Victoria Island Lagos. He said the essence of establishing Federal Government schools was not being achieved with the incessant attacks on the schools in the country. 15-year old son of a King in Delta state who died in kidnappers den, is installed as King

The 15 year old son of Obi Akaeze Edward Ofulue III, the king of Ubulu-Uku Kingdom in Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State who was kidnapped and subsequently murdered last month by unknown gunmen, has been installed as king. Obi (King), Chukwuka Noah Akaeze I, was Installed as king this week and presented to members of the Royal family before he was presented to the council of elders at the palace. The deceased king was abducted on Obior/ Igbodo Road, Delta State, on the 5th of January along with his driver. He was later found dead at Ekon in Edo state. He was 52 years old.
